Perform a wide range of the daily payroll operations and Human Resource functions. This role is responsible for a full scope of processing of all data pertinent to payroll, and for the administration, coordination, development, and maintenance of employee benefits. This position requires an extreme level of confidentiality as highly sensitive bank and employee information is handled.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs all payroll procedures such as entering automated payroll data, processing employees through the payroll system, preparing bi-weekly journal entries, maintaining employee tax deductions and exemptions, and monitoring employee data file, including medical leave, benefits, promotions, reviews, and terminations. 
  • Prepares and distributes written and verbal information to inform employees of benefits programs, such as insurance plans, retirement plans, paid time off and bonus plans. 
  • Administering the organization's benefits programs including health, COBRA, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, disability insurance, worker's compensation insurance, retirement plans (401K) and related programs. Consults with and advises employees on their eligibility for benefits. 
  • Ensure compliance and keep up-to-date with FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEOC, and other federal, state, and local laws. 
  • Maintains personnel files. Prepare new employee orientation materials and update as needed. Maintain new hire, termination and transfer/promotion and prepare annual EEO reports. 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Human Resource policies and procedures and ensure they are kept up to date and are in accordance with all federal and state regulations.

 Job Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in human resources, business, or related discipline. Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in human resources and payroll required.

Understanding of current federal, state and local laws, regulations and HR best practices.

Must be detail oriented, computer literate; possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to communicate effectively with people both verbally and in writing and interact within all levels of the Bank.

Good problem-solving skills and ability to react quickly to arising problems.
