Overdraft Privilege

Avoid embarrassing situations with two overdraft protection options! You may pre-authorize automatic transfers between your savings and checking accounts, or you might qualify for Overdraft Privilege to cover overdrafts on eligible accounts.

With Overdraft Privilege, Haverhill Bank will consider, without obligation, paying overdrafts of up to $800*. Any and all fees and charges, including insufficient funds/overdraft fees, will be included in this limit. One-time ATM/debit card transactions and withdrawals may be paid if you have opted in for this type of overdraft coverage**. If you have not opted in and do not have sufficient funds for a one-time ATM/debit card transaction or withdrawal, your transaction may be declined and you will not be charged a fee.

If you want to authorize and pay overdrafts on ATM and everyday debit card transactions, you may enroll by completing one of the following options:

*Overdraft, uncollected funds or insufficient funds charge of up to $30.00 applies to any transaction that overdraws your account including, but not limited to, payments authorized by checks, ACH/electronic items, online banking, phone banking, in-person withdrawals and recurring debit card transactions. Fee also applies to everyday ATM/debit card transactions for consumers who have opted in. This discretionary service is limited to a $500 overdraft (negative) balance for Regular Checking accounts and $800 overdraft (negative) balance for NOW Checking and Gold Checking accounts. There is no NSF fee if the transaction or overdrawn balance is less than or equal to $10 and there is a maximum of 5 fees per day. You must bring your balance positive immediately and at least every 30 days. The bank cannot promise to pay every overdraft and is never obligated to pay your overdraft. The bank typically does not pay overdrafts if your account is not in good standing, for example, you are not making regular deposits or you do not bring your account to a positive balance.
**One-time ATM/debit card transactions and withdrawals may be paid if you have opted in for this type of overdraft coverage and you are eligible for Overdraft Privilege. We may approve your one-time ATM/debit card transactions and withdrawals up to your assigned ODP limit and charge your account our normal insufficient/overdraft fee up to a maximum of five per day.
Haverhill Bank will not authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions unless authorized to do so:

  • ATM transactions
  • Everyday debit card transactions

Check Imaging

No matter which checking account option you choose, reduced images of your cancelled checks will be included with your monthly statement. The images make it easy for you to reconcile your accounts while reducing the amount of paper you have to manage each month.

In addition, images of your cancelled checks appear online as soon as they are processed. You can easily view the front and back of each check by clicking on its image when you access your online account.* No more waiting for your monthly statement to see your cancelled checks.

Safe Deposit Boxes

Safe deposit boxes are available at our main office. We offer a variety of box size options and each is available on annual contract terms. Boxes are recommended for storage of such valuables as jewelry, insurance policies, stock certificates, automobile titles, birth and death certificates and other important papers and heirlooms.

  • Keep your valuables safe from fire or theft
  • Only authorized customers on the box contract have the ability to access safe deposit boxes
  • Visit your safe deposit box at any time during regular lobby business hours

Boxes are subject to availability and are not insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) or the Share Insurance Fund (SIF). Check with your insurance agent to learn if coverage is available under your homeowner’s or renter’s policy.

You will receive a monthly statement detailing all transactions for each account that you have at Haverhill Bank. This comprehensive statement makes it easy for you track your cash flow and reconcile your accounts regularly.

You may also take advantage of a complimentary upgrade to eStatements, which are delivered to you within Online Banking at the end of each statement cycle. With eStatements, you will enjoy the convenience of having all of your account information in one central location, as well as instant access to past eStatements.
