Branch Manager

Oversee the management and profitable growth of the branch with deposits between $25 million and $75 million.  Manages Branch personnel and directs daily operations to provide a high level of financial services to bank customers. Provides sales training to all staff to meet sales goals and objectives.

The pay range for this position is $62,250 – $83,200 (annually). The final offer will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and overall qualifications, and may fall anywhere within this range depending on how closely their background aligns with the needs of the role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Business Development within market area through proactive cross selling of services to current customers, use of referrals, and regular business development calls to area business.
  • Regular coaching and staff development meetings to support branch goals and provide incentive and training to staff.
  • Solicit/Collect data to write and implement branch’s goals.
  • Contact customers and businesses, and join community and civic organizations to promote good will and generate new business, particularly in the area of Small Business Lending and Deposit Growth.
  • Direct, coordinate, and monitor activities to implement Haverhill Bank and branch policies, procedures, and practices concerning customer service standards, account production, deposit growth, and other applicable goals.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations and company policies as stated in Bank’s Code of Conduct.  
  • Adhere to the fundamentals of the Bank Secrecy Act in performance of job requirements.
  • Direct activities involving team efforts within the branch in the area of customer appreciation, attainment of branch goals, coaching, etc.
  • Manage branch personnel with to insure the following:
    • The branch is adequately staffed with properly trained personnel.
    • Decisions involving branch employees regarding employment, performance ratings, promotions, salary recommendations, transfers and terminations are reviewed and done in a timely manner.
    • Assist in resolving personnel problems, particularly those of a more complex nature.
    • Guiding and advising the staff members in the more complex phases of work.
    • Review annual budget and goals with staff and assure success through coaching, regular meetings, etc.
    • The coordination of activities of the branch with other departments of the bank.
    • Authorize financial transactions executed by branch personnel. 
    • Talk to customers to resolve problems.  Implement cross training of branch staff.  Ensure security and compliance standards are met.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations and company policies as stated in Bank’s Code of Conduct.  
  • Responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned staff.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • College degree in Business, Finance or Related field preferred.
  • 5 or more years experience in banking environment; retail customer service experience.
  • Previous experience in a sales and service culture preferred.
  • Familiarity with bank operating policies and procedures, and Deposit/Lending regulations (state and federal).
  • Must be detail oriented, computer literate; possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to interact within all levels of the Bank. Must be a team player. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person and small group situations with customers, and employees of the organization.
